Stacey Coventry

Hi there,

My name is Stacey, and I am Impact’s resident Health and Safety Partner.

I have been in a safety role for 15 years now, and my journey is an interesting one.

I started as a lot of safety people do, by making sure that rules and procedures were all being followed with a “she’ll be right” attitude. As you can imagine, I didn’t get far and learned why people really don’t appreciate or listen to the safety person.

I like to try and reach the hearts and souls of people to see why they do what they do. If I can make a difference to just a few people's lives and show them that all we want is for them to get home safely to their loved ones, then I know that those people will start to take their buddies on that journey too, and help them realise that safety isn’t just a part of their job, it’s a part of their day to day lives.

On a personal note, I have been happily married for 23 years and I’m a mum to 2 boys. I have a secret love of Harry Potter and Lego and I’m that crazy soccer mum that goes to every game for both my boys who are 18 and 15 years old. I have been the Manager for one of their teams since they started playing, which was 14 years ago!

My role at Impact allows me to share the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over my time in safety and to spread the word that safety isn’t all about compliance. It’s about engaging, listening, caring...and sometimes having those hard conversations about not doing the right thing.
